The Self Portrait
There is something to be said about the self portrait. Putting that camera on timer and letting the magic unfold hands free. Let's face it guys, we no longer live in the era of film. In the good old past, turning the camera on ones self was a risky endeavor. What if you end up with pictures of half heads or nothing but nose hairs and double chins. That was considered a waste of film. But today we live in the Digital age, the perfect excuse to turn ones camera on ones self. The good news, every once in a while you will get lucky...

The Job: Director, Writer, Actor, Producer...
The Idea: Let's Just Do It! This was about making a film without needing to hold each others hands through it. Let's get a group of creative individuals together, everybody bring their expertise, and let's make a movie... And that is exactly what we did. Started as a crew of 3, grew into a crew of 4, and then went back to a crew of 3 so one of our crew could play her part in the film...
The Result: One day, film is in the can, now we move to post production. The victory lives in what we were able to do when others said it couldn't be done. The reality that if you want to do something in life, DO IT! Sometimes the victory is the journey, and in this case everybody left fulfilled...
The Lesson: Life is about doing... Action = The Road To Success

2011 - Happy New Year!

I've decided that 2011 is a year for Action! A year to get out in the world and make things happen! As I enter into each new year I usually do a "resolution" that's related to one specific behavior. But this year I've decided to blanket my entire life and take Action in everything that I do! And I've got to tell you, so far, it's Awesome! Yes there will be failures, yes there will be speed bumps, and yes some days will be harder than others... But if you make a promise to yourself to not give up, it strikes me that come 2012, you will have accomplished more than you probably thought you could. I know conceptually this is simple, but I know from just the first few weeks of the year, it takes dedication and focus to carry it out... So I encourage everyone to take a deep breath and go out in the world and Make the Magic Happen!

Consciousness...
I'm constantly reminded that life can rush by us at a million miles an hour if we don't find a way to slow it down and enjoy at least part of each day for what it has to offer. What an interesting thought. Finding a way to enjoy life as apposed to rushing through it. I know it may not seem profound, but look around, how many people are actually finding a way to spend time doing what they love? A couple months ago I came across this idea, write down the things that you love to do. Then ask yourself how much time you spend doing those things. For me I realized that my life was being consumed by doing things that I thought I should do. Not by things that excite me and make me smile. I do know one thing for sure, having the things I love to do down on paper makes me remember them when I otherwise might not. Just an idea I present to get the wheels turning if you so choose...
